Covid-19 Modifications

I realize many of you are worried and wondering about how swim lessons will be possible during the coronavirus pandemic. I want to assure you that I have done my research on how to safely conduct the KNF Learn To Swim program this summer. Additionally, I have an extensive background in molecular cellular biology and genetics and worked in a pharmacology lab where I was a research technician and was responsible for running the lab without contamination I am coming up with many safety procedures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, beyond the chlorine’s ability to kill it, which is what happens in the pool. There is no evidence that this virus spreads in the water AND, just to reiterate, the chlorine will kill it. Instructors may be teaching with masks on and possibly non-latex gloves as well for a little while. This is just a precaution and to make people feel better. Families may be asked to purchase some items to bring to class (as a precaution) to help make sure we are doing everything we can to be as safe as possible. These items may include: non-latex gloves, masks, snorkel (for Advanced Swim, Swim Team Prep, and Swim Team Skills Clinic) There will be hand sanitization stations and disinfectant spray located throughout the pool & seating environment. There will be 6’ distance markers and plastic dividers between the main table and chair areas. Lastly, kids will likely be practicing in a more organized fashion so they will be less likely to swim into each other in the pool. This is possible by using a form of the “wave” technique. Payment via Cash App eliminates all possibility of contamination, but I will still accept cash and check. I’ll just be wearing gloves. These precautions will be implemented if needed, which I’m praying they aren’t of course, or at least not all of them.

The lakes, rivers, and pools are opening up here in MN, making this a very dangerous time of the year. There are many spring and summer drownings, so we are here to educate and teach swim skills in order to prevent as many of them as possible! This is why we feel it is so important that we do everything we can to open up and proceed with teaching people to swim. We here at Kicks N Flips Swim School also want you to feel safe when bringing your family for swim lessons. We will do everything in our power to make you feel safe to do so.

Please let us know if you have any other questions (text, email, or FB is the best)!
Stay safe and see you this summer!
